Every time we go to Lesotho we marvel again at the quality of Trout fishing in this spectacular mountain Kingdom. Having fished New Zealand and Patagonia, we can attest to the fact that the clear mountain rivers of Lesotho can compete in every way. In general, trekking here is not for the faint hearted, or unfit, but the rewards are certainly worth the effort. Wild Browns of up to 10 pounds are on offer in the crystal rivers. Swift weather changes play a large part in these high peaks and valleys. This is where Semonkong comes in. The owners and their staff have been living and guiding there for decades and their knowledge and expertise is vital should you decide on a hiking/camping option. Otherwise, the Maletsunyani River flows right past the Lodge and you could virtually cast a fly from the veranda of the festive bar to rising fish. Or you could just take a donkey pub crawl…
