kwanza lodge
The fabled West African Tarpon is the main attraction at Kwanza River Lodge, and fish over 200 pounds are often caught around the inshore waters of the river mouth.
Summer pelagic species, such as Billfish and Dorado, are also on the menu. However, the true hidden gem of the Kwanza is the Winter fishery that sees thousands of fish migrate into the river during the colder months.
Juvenile Tarpon, Jacks, Barracuda, and Giant Threadfin are just some of the species that can be successfully targeted on lure bait or fly in the crystal-clear waters of the river.
Comfortable accommodation with air-conditioning, a restaurant, and a bar with a plunge pool to cool off, awaits anglers after a long day on the water battling the beasts of West Africa.
Tarpon Fever
My long held dream of catching a Tarpon on fly remains just that. No excuses.
